APOLLO Introduces Tenant Shield, Expanding Protection for Renters with Property Damage Coverage

TORONTO,  Jan 07, 2026 – APOLLO Insurance today announced the launch of Tenant Shield, a new optional add-on designed to provide renters with enhanced protection for sudden and accidental damage they may cause to a rental property. Tenant Shield offers up to $10,000 in property damage coverage, helping bridge a common gap between standard tenant liability and real-world repair costs.

Tenant Shield is designed to give tenants greater financial security while also supporting property managers and landlords by ensuring damage-related repair bills can be addressed quickly and efficiently. The coverage applies to sudden, accidental, and direct physical loss or damage to the rented premises for which the tenant is legally liable, subject to the policy’s terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions.

How Tenant Shield Works

Tenant Shield provides coverage for sudden and accidental damage to a rental property that occurs during a tenant’s occupancy and for which the tenant is legally responsible. Coverage of $10,000 is available, subject to a $1,000 deductible and the terms of the policy.
